Coffee Shops in Batangas, Part 2

It’s been a while since I posted about coffee shops here in Batangas. And it shames me to admit that while I intended for that to be part of a blog series, I have not made even a single follow up. *hides face* To remedy that ~somehow~ here are a coupla reviews of other relatively new coffee shops in Batangas City that I like: Kaffeine Café and Mary Laine’s Cafe.

Analog Year

These days it’s so easy to get caught up with technology. Like, I pick up my phone to set a reminder and the next thing I know.. it’s 30 minutes later, I’ve checked and rechecked my social media feed, liked, hearted, and commented, and totally forgotten why I picked up the phone in the first place. That ever happen to you as well? It’s annoying, really. And frankly, quite disturbing too.

2017 Personal Theme: Balance

First, a tiny review of my 2016 Personal Theme, which is Live Boldly. Was I able to apply it in real life? Well, not exactly all the time, but where it counts, then YES. I felt that I was able to do more things that made me happy. My solo travel pushed through (though I have yet to blog about it) and I was able to go more or less everywhere I intended to go. I learned new things and [literally] drove further out of my [literal] comfort zone (thank you Waze!). I generally don’t give a damn what others say right from the start, and I’m happy that that still holds up to now.

Now, my 2015 and 2016 personal themes were quite contradictory, what with one calling for less and the other for more. So this coming year, my personal theme would be kinda derived from the two. From one pole to the opposite, I now want temperance and moderation between the two. And that is why on 2017, I will strive for BALANCE.

There are a lot of things I want to achieve and do in the coming months, and I know that a lot of them would require some sacrifice one way or another; delayed gratitude, if you will. Something I am not exactly good at, and so I have to work hard for. Trips and experiences won’t pay for themselves, and that’s on top of the groceries, bills, tuition, etc. Time must be managed wisely, not just squandered on frivolity and narcissistic pursuits. You know the drill. Work hard so I can play hard as well. if not harder.

Starbucks Planner X Bullet Journal

So I have been using a tiny generic planner for the last two years now. And even with the cramped space, I find that I still have quite a lot of gaping blank spaces all over the planner. Most entries are just the usual events like birthdays and holidays, and then book and movie releases, and then the occasional coffee date or two with friends. I live an utterly boring life, I know. So there’s really no sensible reason to upgrade to another kind of planner.

BUT. Starbucks Philippines released their 2017 planners and I fell in love with the Siren planner, uneventful life be damned. I mean, just look at this beauty. 😍

Starbucks 2017 Siren PlannerAnd yeah, I painted my nails to match the cover. 😉
