Happy wife, happy life. That’s what they usually say. Well, about married couples anyway. So, am I a happy wife? Yes. Are we living a happy life? All things considered, yes. But.. is it really as simple as that?
Back in elementary, I was usually one of the smallest and thinnest girls in class. By puberty and through adulthood though, the few extra inches of height (and waist) deemed me within the normal or average. I was neither the smallest nor the biggest anywhere; I was just about right, if you will.
Then I came here to the US. My height did not change (though my weight did fluctuate a little), but I suddenly felt small and even delicate. 😅 Like, even the Small-sized clothes here fit awkwardly on my short frame. When looking for pants or dresses, I now have to consider the length, something which I have never really done before. Now my new clothes have “allowances for growth” just like a freakin’ kid’s. Oh, and yes, even the kid-sized shoes here fit me. 🤣
So my new Docs arrived an hour ago and I am one happy girl! I have always wanted black Docs, but didn’t really want to spend too much. Those things can be hella expensive (especially when you’re unemployed like me right now). But I still looked and looked anyway, and found a cheaper alternative at the kids’ section. 😆 And here they are, my Dr. Martens (Kid’s Collection) Combs! Me and my tiny-ass feet.. 🤣
That photo pretty much sums up my situation right now: me in my comfy pj’s, semi-neglected pedicure and slippers, taking in the cold outside, and straddling the line between light and dark..
So I have been here for a coupla weeks now, stuck at home to avoid getting coronavirus. Thankfully (or not), he is stuck at home as well since his workplace is currently closed. So we’re together pretty much 24/7; it means we can hug or kiss or goof around whenever we feel like it. So far we’re like a coupla kids playing house. 🤣 It hasn’t driven any of us crazy (or crazier) so I guess that’s a good thing. 😁
It’s been some time since my last update. Much has happened, not the least of which is my big move from the Philippines to the United States of America. The journey was not without its share of delays and setbacks, but I got here just fine so I guess it all worked out somehow. And just in time too, as the coronavirus disease has borders locking down left and right.
