Though I have been dabbling with some brush calligraphy here and there, what I really wanted to do (but was damn intimidated to) was pointed pen calligraphy. The idea of putting together nib to holder and dipping in ink to write sounds intriguing in the most delicious way. But I was hesitant to try it because (1) I did not have any of the supplies needed and (2) I am a leftie and the hobby doesn’t seem to be too friendly to those like me. Ink smudges on the sides of the hand, anyone? The struggle is real, people.
Anywho. I attended the Inks & Colors: Calligrafriends PH meet last Saturday and it was so much fun! Learned a lot from the resource speakers, and the loot…! It was more than awesome, really. Lookie here:
Something’s missing and I don’t know how to fix it.
Something’s missing and I don’t know what it is.
The monster’s running wild inside of me. So lost, I’m faded.
- Loving Faded by Alan Walker feat. Iselin Solheim. Gorgeous music, delicate yet edgy melody, haunting lyrics and vocals. Conjures up images of worn Victorian lace and tulle in grayed, washed out texture.
- Just realized I really love beaches and clean turquoise waters. Like Boracay, Kawasan Falls, and Kalanggaman Island. And I realized I travel mostly for them. I wanna go to Palawan too, Coron specifically.
- I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas already. I don’t feel ready. But I’m excited to make red velvet loaf with cream cheese filling and baked macaroni for Noche Buena tomorrow.
I will be the first to admit that I am not the perfect girlfriend or partner. I have too much emotional excess baggage, am prone to bouts of depression and neurotic episodes and made some pretty fantastically bad decisions in my life. And in one of those episodes earlier, I all but threw every good thing he’s done to me to his face. Not one of my proudest moments, but it did result in a good thing.
Right now I have no words fit for posting on a public blog so this song should suffice.
