Last Friday night was Employees’ Awards Night at our university and I was chosen as one of the usherettes (otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered dressing up or even going altogether). Contrary to my original plan of wearing my hair in Maria Mercedes curls, I decided at the last minute to just wear it up in a bun. I thought it would look better with the outfit; since the dress is a bit on the skimpy side, I figured a severe bun would lessen the overall siren factor (feelingera lang ang peg 😉 ).
Anywho, I used my Nichido eye pencil in Brown Black and e.l.f. eyeshadow quad in Butternut for the smokey eye look. For the nude lips, Human ♥ Nature tinted lip balm in Island Kiss and NYX round lipstick in Margarita. For the face, TonyMoly Dear Me Petite Cotton BB cream and Human ♥ Nature mineral pressed powder in Island Shell (which I applied with a kabuki brush instead of the included sponge puff). And finally, the blush included in my e.l.f. makeup palette (sorry, not sure what name but it was a light pinkish peach color).
I wore a classic LBD and red peeptoe heels for the affair. Kinda unplanned, I also had the huge shawl in the photo as a literal security blanket–I use it to add a modicum of modesty to my otherwise almost indecent dress when going up and down stairs and sitting down. 😀 Aside from my watch and simple black bracelet, this is my only other accessory:
Can I just say it was practically love at first sight when I saw this? Totally perfect foil to a boring classic dress. 😀
What do you think (aside from the fact that I have thunder thighs and need to lose weight)? 😉
astig.. I like the 3rd picture.. pretty ^_^

Define fierce. And good move on the bun! 🙂
Fierce, yes.. and barako too! 😀 I honestly have the most unfeminine walk ever. They say I walk like I’m going to war or something. Lol! Thanks sis!
Sis, tutor mo ako how to make a clean bun. I can’t make a clean one during our company events. It looks so messy. 🙁
Don’t worry sis, there’s a cheat! 😀 I used a donut bun maker. Got it from Puregold, but there are lots to be found online too. I just made a ponytail, inserted my hair into the bun maker then rolled it until it’s flat against the base of the ponytail. The ends of the bunmaker are then tucked against each other to make a donut. Then just arrange the rolled hair to cover the exposed bun maker. 🙂 Hope you got that, I am not all that good at procedures. Anyway, there are bun maker tutorials at YouTube if all else fails. 😉
Astig sis. Love your outfit! Haha! uu nga, iniimagine kita na may curls. Vavoom tlga yun.
Yeah, it is a company affair after all so I gotta look decent still. 😛 Haha. Thanks!
Love the necklace! Edgy and glam!
