Inferno review

Okay, so I just posted a screencap of my quick Goodreads review of Inferno. Lazy me. 😛 But I got a couple more thoughts about the book, so bear with me. Just a friendly warning though: spoilers ahead!  😉

  • Part of Sienna Brooks’ back story is her trauma in Manila. Yes, as in Manila, Philippines. Gee, thanks for the negative publicity, Dan Brown. *sarcastic eye roll* Okay, so the way he described it as congested, overpopulated and rife with hungry beggars may be a bit realistic. But it’s a bit exaggerated in my humble opinion. Or maybe I just have not been to the particular spot where Sienna supposedly was?
  • The line between good and evil is quite blurred in the book. Rather, it’s all grey area. Inferno, the virus or “plague” that Zobrist created and spread was really a humane way of thinning out the population. It did not kill, or make anyone suffer. Yes, it caused sterility to a minority of the whole populace, but preventing creation of life is the lesser evil as opposed to ending one.
  • While reading the book, I had my phone on hand to Google images of each place and architecture that Langdon went to. It made for a more fulfilling and enjoyable reading experience. 🙂

How about you, have you read Inferno? Who do you think of the book? 🙂

  1. That’s a good idea a. I used to get really irked when I couldn’t imagine what a place or item looks like in a novel. E medyo tamad to log in to a computer and check it out, etc. while reading. But I guess with today’s technology, it is quite easy na nga.

Btw, I’m into ebooks na rin! Got a Samsung Note 10.1 and the MoonReader+ app is a dream! Love the built in dictionary. Pero sana it could also show images din noh? Maybe in the future. Hehehe! =)

    1. With the technology now, that would probably be sooner rather than later. 😉

Maganda talaga yung MoonReader+ app? I read on the Kindle, so yun na din ang reader app na installed sa iPod at phone ko. 😀
