Nivea Creme
Nivea Creme

I chanced upon this in South Star Drugstore some nights ago. I wasn’t really looking for a moisturizer, just browsing the products as I am wont to do whenever in the vicinity of various beauty products. And nothing more than its über-cute packaging (like a lip balm pot) and cheap price (just P29.xx) got me to buy it. Haha.

Truth is I used to just snub this product whenever I see it on supermarket and drugstore aisles. I mean, I’ve been seeing it most of my life as relatives abroad usually include a tub or some of this whenever they send packages but never really paid attention since as a kid, I found it too thick and greasy and pang-matanda. Haha.

Anywho. So yeah I got the small pot anyway and as I do not want to waste it I decided I might as well use it. I use lotion at night before sleeping since I feel that my skin is a bit dry, but don’t really feel satisfied with the moisture I get with the lotions I’m using. Since the Nivea Creme is really really thick and creamy, I figured it might do the trick. So I put it on on top of the new lotion I tried that night–incidentally another Nivea product, the Night Whitening Body Milk which is “especially formulated to strengthen your skin and support cell renewal during night time.” I put the cream on my elbows, on dry patches on the arms and on my hands. And come morning.. my skin indeed felt softer. Whee!

I usually use lotion in the morning as well since the soap I’m using (Kojie.San Dream White) tends to dry my skin out a bit but on that particular morning, I discovered that I left my daytime lotion (Kojie.San Lightening Lotion) on drawer at work. I panicked for a moment since I thought my skin would turn out dry and flaky after bath, but when I got to work I discovered that my skin was fine after all. Like, not dry at all so no need for the lotion for moisturization. Another whee! Haha.

Since then I have been using Nivea Creme on the same spots at night and I am happy to report that my skin is not that dry anymore and looks way more healthy. I tend to obsess so I apply some on my hands after washing and whenever I feel them drying out and it hasn’t failed me so far. A little goes a long way too, so my small  pot could last me a few more weeks. All in all, a very good and recommended product.

  1. oh! i remember when i was younger, my dad would bring home several tubs of nivea creme.. anlagkitlagkit! hahaha! inaaway ko pa mum ko when she forces me to use it on my elbows and knees.. 😛

  2. I have Nivea in my bag all the time. The smallest petridish-like tin can of Nivea cream. Reminds me when I was young. Yan ang sagot ng mom ko sa dry elbows and knees. I still believe it will do the trick it’s supposed to do.

    1. it sure does sis! my hands look so much better now, after just a few day’s use. 😀 i’m starting to believe that one of the best beauty secrets ever is indeed moisture, moisture, moisture!

  3. sis, same lang ba to with the nivea creme na nasa tin can? kc parang made of plastic yata yung container ng naka-post na pic?? and yung price nya is really P29???? ang mura ha!! kc confused ako. what i usually see sa watson is yung nivea creme na nasa latang blue and around P200 ang 150ml nya. yung nasa plastic container na nakikita ko naman is nivea soft and kulay white naman na plastic ang lalagyan.

    1. yes sis, same lang siya nun nasa tin can. made of plastic yun nasa pic, and yung nabili ko na small pot pero kulay blue din. para lang lalagyan ng lip balm, maliit lang. 15mL yung P29 na nabili ko sa South Star. 🙂
