Having curly hair has always been one of my life’s frustrations. Born with straight but unruly hair, I have always dreamed of having those loose, carefree, low-maintenance beach waves I always see on celebrities and Korean women (digital perm).

I rather think this messy 'do (sans the color job) would fit me, you think?

I like this style as well, but my hair is not quite as long as this girl's

To give you an idea if curls/waves would fit me, here’s a simulation (an old pic I dug up):

curly me
(photoshopped) curly me?

Not too shabby, ya’think? I rather like the way the soft waves look on me. My hair is currently about the same length as in the picture, with just some pieces shorter at the front.

Anywho. From what I’ve learned through good old Google, the type of waves/curls I want could be attained through a hairstyling technique called digital perming. Thing is, all the salons which have good reviews are in the metro (Beauty Brick, Simon Kim, Tony & Jackey, Azta) and I’m stuck here in Batangas. Bummer. David’s Salon offers digital perming (P2,800 according to their site), but I am not sure if the local branch here offers that service as well. And if they do, if the results are as good as those of the others mentioned. Hmmm… Anyone have an idea?

  1. I also have straight hair and am tired of it. I’ve also been planning to go curly but never get around to really doing it.

P2,800 for digi perm? Is that for any length already?

    1. I dunno if that’s for any length, as the site doesn’t indicate so. From what I’ve read, Simon Kim’s is the most affordable, for as low as P1,500 but he’s too far away. 🙁

Btw, I saw from DS site that they did Precious Lara Quigaman’s digital perm before and it turned out real pretty. Then again she’s a celebrity. so I’m wondering if it would turn out just as good on an average girl like me. 😀

  2. naku sis, frustration ko rin yan… I couldn’t get to the point of having curly hair… kasi once na humaba ng onti ang hair ko, I get restless and have it cut short. Haaay! Gusto ko rin ng hair na ganyan… and yes, mas maganda if light colored ang hair.

  3. nat, ive read in a book that it took an effort

    1. they dont use shampoo… they use “dry shampoo” spray lang sya

    2. and you have to go to salon twice a month

    1. Thanks for the info Ate Honey! 🙂

Actually, I’ve postponed any plans of having a digital perm for about a year or so. But will be keeping these things in mind if I actually do have it done later on. 😀
