that green dress

I haven’t drawn clothes in a long time..

Believe it or not, I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was a kid. I filled many a pad of paper with sketches and drawings of girls in a variety of clothing styles. I made paper dolls and paper gowns, tops, skirts.. you name it. But that passion/hobby somehow got eroded as time passed.

With my recent interest in watercolors, I found myself running out of ideas what exactly to color. I never was a flower person so I couldn’t muster up enough interest to do more than try and make decent-looking ones.
And so here we are..

Materials used:

  • Corona plain index card
  • Unipin Fine Line 0.1
  • Sakura Pigma Micron 05
  • Simbalion watercolor cake
  • Uniball Signo (metallic green & white)
  • Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust (yellow)

  1. I love your design. That dress could be a lovely cocktail dress if sewn just as it is. You can be a fashion designer. Creativity and using the right materials are mastery of a craft that can really make one a good designer.

    1. I’ve actually drawn a coupla dresses that were made into actual clothes.. one was even a gown for a campus beauty queen, and she won the title. And I was still in elementary then. ? I want to pursue this, but actually sewing clothes is beyond me.. I can do a mean backstitch though. ?

  2. You are very talented! I remember when I was still a kid I dreamt of designing dresses but soon realized I don’t have the hand for it. Haha!
