It’s no secret that I like Human Nature products, especially for my daughter. Aside from the Wonder Baby Oil, she also uses 100% Natural Kids Bath Soap (Chocolate Adventure) and Kids Natural Shampoo & Body Wash (Ocean Apple). Today, I will be reviewing the latter.

Product Description from website:

96.4% Natural

Bath time is fun for many kids, but not all kids like taking a bath! For some parents, getting their kids clean becomes an all-out war. From delaying tactics to bribery to a good ol’ chase scene around the house, bath time can sometimes be stressful and can lead to tears – both for the parents and the kids.

Yummy-scented Tangerine Thunder for boys and Ocean Apple for girls are almost a sure shot to get the kids running TO the bath, and not away from it. A shampoo made especially for him and for her, it comes in fun packaging that encourages kids to let their imaginations run free. Let your little boy dream of zooming around in a shiny red race car – or let your little princess pretend she’s a pretty mermaid!

Human Nature Kids Natural Shampoo & Body Wash is completely free from harmful chemicals as it removes dirt and grime to keep your little ones naturally fresh and clean. It’s made with a unique Protein Care System that helps keep your child’s hair healthy and skin soft and supple.

Ingredients (if you’re finicky like that):

aqua (water), sodium cocoyl isethionate (coconut-derived), decyl glucoside (coconut-derived), sodium lactate (sugarcane-derived), sodium gluconate (sugarcane-derived), Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, olus (vegetable) oil, Cocos nucifera (coconut) nectar, guar gum, dicaprylyl ether (vegetable-derived), fragrance (all natural) levulinic acid (rice or corn-derived), coco glucoside, glyceryl oleate (coconut-derived), xanthan gum, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, phytic acid (rice-derived), citric acid, anisic acid (anise seed-derived)

And now on to the review proper. Let’s make it easy for both you and me with ever useful bullets, shall we? To summarize, here ya go:

Likes:

  • No harmful chemicals!
  • Proudly Philippine-made product.
  • Ocean Apple smells sweet, fresh and clean.
  • It can also double as body wash (though I prefer using a separate soap for that purpose).
  • Lathers well so you could make do with a small amount per use (this quite appeals to my inner kuripot).
  • Rinses off easily and leaves hair squeaky-clean but not dry.
  • No allergies or adverse reaction (in Francine’s case).
  • Hair feels light and looks shiny once dried.
  • With continued use, it made Francine’s hair a bit thicker and darker.

Dislikes:

  • Nothing really.

For the record, my daughter has thin, very fine (kinda translucent) hair. I had already cut it several times to make it grow thicker. The last haircut, coupled with this shampoo did the trick. It’s now of optimum thickness (for her hair length and age) and lately she’s been getting compliments on her crowning glory.

  1. I’m going to use this for me! Fresh and clean, that’s what I like. I was disappointed when they discontinued the hair and body wash for adults. I liked the peppermint variant so much and I buy the biggest bottle all the time. I don’t like the smell of the two earlier kids’ shampoos but maybe this one I will like.

    1. Me too, I liked the old shampoo formulation better. The new one just didn’t work for me. 🙁

I used to use this too when I run out of my shampoo. 😛 Haha. I really really like the scent, and so does my daughter. I entice her with this shampoo when she doesn’t want to take a bath. 😀

      1. I have a feeling that they made it more foamy for the people who like a lot of bubbles with their shampoo. Sayang. I remember super shiny ng hair ko nun.

        1. Same here, I even blogged about it here. Still I don’t find the new formulation any more foamy either. 😐 In fact I like the Clarifying Shampoo better, and it foams up a lot more too. 🙂

  2. Your daughter sure knows how to smize! Ahlaveet!

I also use this body wash for myself! Haha! I’ve tried using it as a shampoo but my hair is probably too damaged for this product to do its magic haha.

    1. She got it from Mommy.. Choz! 😛 Haha. Kidding sis, thanks! 🙂

Well, seeing as it’s made for kids who generally have undamaged hair, I’m not expecting it to work that well for us adults with stressed tresses. But it would do for a yummy-smelling body wash. 😉

  3. Sunflower oil is my favorite human nature product. So glad that they have products suitable for different ages.
PS: Your daughter is so pretty!

  4. i like using their sunflower beauty oil as makeup remover and once in a while for my hair too. but i recall buying the pineapple pawikan kids shampoo and body wash for my sisters. natry ko sya once, ang bango!
