Funny you should say that, our boss just sent someone from the other office here for me to teach her how to get, and I quote, “compelling shots.” As if I were some hotshot photographer. 😛 I wish!
You got me thinking, maybe I could do a simple walk-though or something. Just share the little bit I do know about photography. Thanks for the idea Rae! 🙂
I’m jealous. When you run out of thoughts to write, you can easily partner with your camera and boom! a blog-worthy post. In my case, if I have none in my head, I have none for the blog too. Such a dilemma. What SLR do you suggest I buy? Srsly. I’m a noob and not a willing-to-learn one at that. So I would appreciate a user-friendly recommendation from you 🙂 And hopefully something not so pricey 🙂
Oh, was it that apparent that I have run out of things to say? Buking! 😛 Haha.
Re: DSLR, the choice usually boils down to Canon or Nikon since they are the two most popular and widely used brands of DSLR. I have a trusty but already phased out Canon EOS 450D, though I have used a Nikon D90 and D5100 a coupla times too. Personally, I prefer Canon since it takes cleaner photos with less noise than Nikon as per my experience. Nikon shoots with punchier colors even with the default settings though. Still, I find it easier to tweak colors than remove noise (all while preserving detail which can be a pain in the ass) so I stand by Canon. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
If you’re not really aiming for professional photography, you might opt for an entry-level DSLR. They have more than enough options for tweaking and tinkering to get your creative juices flowing. For Canon, you could go for EOS 1100D, 600D or 100D (smallest and lightest). For Nikon, maybe the the D3100, D3200 or D5100.
I got my camera from Kimstore. She has lower prices than at the malls.
Hehe sorry that’s not what I meant. Ako kasi talaga ang walang ma-blog, obvious ba?
OK wow, that’s a mouthful. Thank you thank you for the advice 🙂 Since madali akong kausap, Canon it is. Will discuss it with the hubby soon. Gaahh I’m so excited. 😀
Btw, checked out Kimstore. Hmmm. This is bad.
🙂 i use adobe lightroom when i want to adjust the brightness of the photos lang, the rest of the post-processing i do in photoshop na. oh please post a tutorial! kahit simple post-process how-tos lang. that would be very helpful. hehe!
Geared more for photography ang Lightroom, for design ang Photoshop. Nagagawa sa Photoshop yung nagagawa sa Lightroom, but not vice versa. 🙂
Seems a tutorial is inevitable, eh? Hmmm… Pressure! 😛
You must do an entry for photography noobs (aka. me). I don’t have an SLR though. But lumix has pretty much a lot of options already.

Gadget (online) window shopping has that effect on me too. Andami ko nakikita na gusto ko bilhin! 😀
Weee, another Canon convert! Haha.
hahaha! can relate to her though 😛
I love your third photo from top! I’m so envious! I wish I can see and take a photo of ordinary things that way… 🙂
Thanks sis! I like getting up close and personal when taking photos of inanimate objects. Gives it more life, so to speak. 😉
I envy you, i wish i can learn that too.
If you really want to, there’s no reason you couldn’t learn too sis. 🙂
I like the first and third shot. 🙂 What camera and editing tool are you using?
Thanks Gayle! 🙂 I use a Canon EOS 450D and either Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop CS5 for post-processing.

my gulay! what high-end camera are you using ate? 😀 you are really great!
It’s actually a low-end camera sis, a humble Canon EOS 450D. 🙂 Thanks!
wow!
Go go go sis! Aja! 😀
I like most of ’em, except third, parang wala lang, close up ganon..
and i find it cute yung paglagay mo ng watermark(?)
Thanks sis! 🙂 I try to place them creatively somewhere in the photo, preferably without distracting from the photo itself.
Super nice of your phone case. Where to get that? It look so soshyal! 😀
Thanks sis! I got it from an IG shop, pinkandpurpleshoppe. 🙂
The pics looks like taken by a pro. They so much to say. Keep it up!
