So help me God, since doing that Splurge vs. Save on Blushes post I have been obsessing about e.l.f. blushes. Particularly Peachy Keen and Candid Coral:
And yes, as this post’s title succinctly states, cheap buys still mean spending money. Must drill that into my thick skull. Inasmuch as these are relatively cheap compared to, say, NARS blushes, they still cost money which could be better utilized for actual necessities, like food. Oh, and do take into consideration too that I gotta have them shipped too so that would mean shelling out even more than just for the blushes themselves. 😐
As if that’s not enough, I even want to maximize the shipping fee for chrissakes. Geez. So browsing through the seller’s items, I now have two more lemmings, this time in the form of eye shadow quads which I definitely do not need but still want anyway:
To think I do not even go out of the house that much to warrant buying anymore makeup. There are no parties to attend or people to make a good first impression to. In fact, I actually do think my meager stash is already too much for my intended use. All I really need is a BB cream, blotting paper, lip tint/balm/gloss and eyebrow pencil. Mascara and blush are just optional in my books. And eye colors–let’s not go there. But still, that doesn’t stop me from wanting these two blushes here (aside from the fact that I am not quite liking the pink-ness of the blush I currently own and want a peach/coral one to better match my warm undertone) and eye colors (that’s just pure kaartehan on my part since I would probably just use them on special occasion/s once or twice a year).
How annoying. Self-repression sucks, but so does wasteful spending. I wish I could get to the bottom of these damn impulsive urges to buy, buy and buy-some-more-until-you-have-no-more. And nip it right in the bud. So no more obsessing and money squandering. And yes, I’m sure I could still find other less costly means of enjoyment. Somehow. So help me God.
I must agree. I feel the same for clothes. Siguro try to avoid na din lurking on make-up related sites, so they won’t tempt you to buy the products 😉
One of the pitfalls of staying at home and having too much time on your hand is that you eventually end up net surfing, which leads to blog hopping and forum posting, and inevitably leads you to TEMPTATION. 😀 Haha. I know I gotta stop this obsession, and I really will. Just not now when I’m having so much fun. 😉
