I passed by National Bookstore earlier on the way to the bank and geek that I am, I just had to browse even just a few aisles even if I was in a rush. πŸ˜› I don’t look much at books nowadays since I have a Kindle and virtually unlimited supply of ebooks. Instead I went for the writing and art supplies. I got these for Francine:

art materialsYasaka Drawing Book – P 20
Leone Super Size Crayons – P 89

The drawing book and box of crayons coincidentally matched. Red kung red talaga. πŸ˜€Β Notice that I’ve already labeled both, excited creature that I am. πŸ˜‰

She has a Megasketcher and a smaller sketcher board, but she’s already grown tired of them I think. And whenever she loots my bag, she always gets my pencil-case with all my colorful writing paraphernalia. For someone who’sΒ tamad magsulat,Β I have quite a few pens and markers always on hand:

So I thought it apt to get her some of her own, and the drawing book besides to doodle on. That, and so she won’t write doodle on my notebooks or the pillows or on the various flat surfaces at home. πŸ˜› It should help know more colors as well. Never too early to start. πŸ˜‰

    1. I hope so sis! She used it last night but I think I ended up enjoying more. πŸ˜€ Now I’m thinking of buying a drawing book or sketch pad for myself, baka ako pa makaubos ng pages ng drawing book nya at this rate. πŸ˜›

  1. I love, love, love sharpie and pens. I used to have kindle (it got lost </3) but I still do not forget to drop by at bookstores, I mean bookstores are the therapeutic! I love pens too.

  2. Wow! My mom said I loved drawing and coloring books when I was young. I don’t know what happened to the drawing thing. I just lost creativity somewhere! Hahaha! By the way, I noticed that you have a good handwriting. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks sis! It’s funny, back in college during our Engineering Drawing subject where we had to master Engineering Lettering, I couldn’t really get the hang of it technically so I just went ahead and used my own penmanship. Absurdly enough, I actually passed. πŸ˜€

I used to quite fond of drawing too when I was a kid; I squandered more than a few pads’ worth of papers on doodles and paper dolls. πŸ˜€

  3. I remember being able to write cursive at the age of 3 only because Ma bought me a lot of pencil, pens, writing books, and even chalk & chalkboard! πŸ™‚ Downside, since maagang natutong magsulat, maaga ding nagsawa. By highschool, I barely finish a 50-page notebook anymore while classmates would have to buy another one kasi ubos na before the school year even ends. Haha! But that’s a good start. Mahahasa agad fingers and even imagination nya πŸ™‚

    1. I sure hope so sis! I want to give her every possible advantage para pagpasok na nya, marunong na siya magsulat, bumilang, etc. so the lessons would come easier to her. πŸ™‚

Ang galing mo sis ah, writing in cursive at 3? Ikaw na! πŸ˜€

      1. I remember knowing how to write before entering Kindergarten at the age of 4. Kaya laging best in penmanship as a kid. Francine has a big chance to excel sa lessons if she has less things to worry about like how to write in blue-red-blue lines, spaces, spelling, etc. πŸ™‚

        1. Thanks for the tip sis! Dream ko maging full-time housewife para super hands-on Mommy ako, that way I could teach her myself and study with her, etc. πŸ˜‰

Best in penmanship, huh? Nice! Ako passable lang eh, tamad pa magsulat. πŸ˜›

  4. BONGA! School of Rock! m/ I never loved drawing before, ngayon lang pong college ko nadiscover na masarap pala magdoodle. πŸ™‚ And I’d be able to write in cursive when I started in elementary, yet having a teacher mom never pressured me, masarap talaga matuto, kahit nga po ngayon gusto ko pa din mag-aral πŸ˜›

    1. She’s not in school yet, and School of Hard Knocks seems too harsh for a kid so.. πŸ˜› Baligtad naman tayo, mas mahiliga ako mag-draw nun bata pa ko, nawala as I grew up.

  5. Hehe.Francine is so cute. Can’t wait for the little artist to grow up and be able to put her thoughts into writing. I’m sure we’ll get along well. πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks sis! Yeah, you’ll probably get along well with her. She likes cats too (and animals in general). πŸ™‚ I do hope she likes writing or drawing or both when she grows up.
