This is the 5 mL sample tube I got from Kkochi Pida together with the Nature Republic sun cream. I got to try this as well yesterday morning, mostly by accident. See, I opened this just to swatch it and see if it matches my skin tone (thankfully it does) with no intention as of yet to actually try it on my face. But when I removed the cap, the product just spilled out! 😐
How annoying. A lot more than that spilled out, I’ve already put the rest at the back of my hand. And so instead of wasting the BB cream (and that’s a lot!) I figured I might as well put the stuff on my face as a trial run of sorts. Anywho, here are some of the swatches on my hand:
As you could see from the swatches, it does match my skin color! 😀 By the way, most of the gunk BB cream on the first and second photos went to my face. Only what’s left was blended into my hand, but that’s just about the right amount anyway since with BB creams, a little goes a long way. Thankfully, it matched the skin color of my face too, although my face is a shade or two lighter than my hand.
On my face, used after the sun cream (which gives a very dewy finish), the BB cream made me look almost oily. The coverage is good though, it was able to correct the redness on my cheeks and sides of my nose and minimize the appearance of a coupla zits. It also did brighten up my complexion. And as with most other BB creams, the longer it stayed on my face, the better it blended.
Since I was already wearing the BB cream, I thought I might as well go all the way and use powder to set it as well as I usually do. That, and to tamp down the shine factor too. So using my new kabuki brush and Avon pressed powder (which is a shade or two darker than my natural color) I completed my “going-out” look. The result is okay, actually better than when I use the two BB creams (Etude House and Missha).
And one other thing. When I washed my face last night, I noticed that my zits were actually already flat. Yes, as in flat. I am not sure about this but I have a feeling the BB cream may have helped heal that zit since it was on my face all day and I remember putting several layers to conceal that pimple. 😀
All in all, I feel (initially) vindicated buying this BB cream. Can’t wait to really try it next time I head out. 😉
i’m clueless about this product. is it a sunblock cream, foundation or what? =)
In general, BB creams are somewhat in the family of tinted moisturizers and/or foundations albeit with added benefits (depending on the actual BB cream variant) like sun protection, blemish healing, whitening, anti-aging or what-have you. They usually come in just one shade (or two if you’re lucky) but supposedly blends with your skin tone. However, most are suited largely for just fair to medium-skinned girls.
Hope that helps sis! 🙂
