…to my ever expanding kikay kit, that is. π
Since I use BB creams to even out my skin tone and conceal/minimize dark and red spots, I found it more appropriate to use to use a brush in applying powder rather than the included sponge puff. There is some dragging with the sponge, and I can’t help feeling that it absorbs some of the cream instead of just applying powder on my skin. So I got myself this cute Nichido Professional Kabuki Brush from good old Watson’s for P238. I was torn between this, a blush brush and a powder brush (so many brushes, my goodness!) but I figured this is more versatile than the other two since it can be used for both powder and blush. Only niggle is it has no case so I’d have to lug the box along to preserve its shape. π
Oh, and the Avon Ideal Oil Control Powder in Medium shade is snagged from Mama. π It’s a coupla shades darker than the Maybelline I use, but I figured that’s better since BB creams have this tendency to brighten the face and using a darker powder helps keep things look more natural.
Tried using both earlier, and the result is a lighter, more even application of the powder. Happy. π
I like the brush but I honestly don’t know how to use one that is that fluffy. Parang lalampas sa area na gusto ko… (or maybe it just seems too big because the photo is up close π
You’re right, there are so many brushes out there. I’m really curious how they are all used.
I actually have no idea how to use it until this morning too. I just swirled and swirled it on my face until the powder is blended well and looks natural against my skin. π Haha. Using it for applying blush, I just swirled the topmost bristles on the blush and applied it very lightly on the apples of my cheeks going to the temples. Looked natural naman, thank God! π
Anywho, I think I’ll stick to this brush for now. There are so many other kinds of brushes that it actually intimidates me. π Besides, powder and blush are all I need a brush for so this would suffice.
Day 31 ka na sis sa Poject 365 mo, galing! And can I just say I like how you took this picture. Pang pro!
Thanks much sis, really appreciate your comment! π
That looks like a nice brush, but I don’t think I’d like carrying it around in it’s original box. Do you have to carry it with you? Or can you just use it in the mornings and then leave it at home?
I like your blog a lot. π I’m glad I stumbled across it!
I think I would have to lug it around for touch-ups throughout the day. After using it to apply powder ever just once, I do not want to back to using that sponge puff again. π I guess I just have to look for an alternative case for it, otherwise I’m stuck with that box.
Thanks much for visiting my blog! π
You are very welcome!
I know there are travel brushes out there, that have a metal or plastic cap that goes over them. Perhaps you could try one of those to carry with you throughout the day? I don’t know if you can get the same quality though….but it might be worth checking out!
Yeah, I saw some travel brushes too. But none are as soft as this one, and besides, getting another one would be impractical since I rarely go out anyway. π Would just have to deal with the box.
hi! saw the link from gtalk
ako din since i used kabuki, i dont want to look back. mas mabilis application, a few seconds of buffing and you’re good to go. plus parang mas hygeinic kaysa sa sponges. i use covergirl trublend mineral foundation and blush. the brushes have cases where they pop in and out tapos yung case naman na yun, screwed over the blush/foundie. i like it. though minsan feeling ko bulky sila dalin both but i still do even if i rarely ever retouch with the blush. almost never. but with my oily tzone, i sometimes retouch with the foundation.
Kapag tinatamad ako magdala nun kabuki brush or maliit lang bag na gamit ko, I just make do with blotting paper. Haha. As in ayaw na talaga gamitin yung sponge eh. π
Thanks for visiting Kyrie! π
