So it’s been.. a while. Needless to say, a lot has happened. I am a practically a different person now. For one, ya girl is now ‘murican. Not that it’s something to be quite so proud of given the shitshow that is happening here lately, but still, it is a fact worth noting. After all, I worked hard for that. But enough about that.
Why did I suddenly feel the need to resurrect this blog? Simple answer is I finally got myself a proper laptop and I feel like celebrating that by yapping away into cyberspace once more. The last laptop I had was the cheap one I had back in the Philippines. When I got here, I got by using my phone and my husband’s old gaming laptop as needed. That is one heavy beast though, so it was confined to the desk. Also when we moved out from the in-law’s, we left that laptop there. So it was back to my phone and iPad, and if I really needed a proper computer, I just used my husband’s gaming rig. It’s not a bad setup, but I do miss having my own computer.
I have always wanted a Mac, but as we all know, they are prohibitively expensive. Especially for someone with kuripot tendencies like me. And while I do have a little bit saved up, I could still never quite justify spending upwards of a thousand bucks on a beautiful laptop that I know I would probably not be able to maximize usage of. And I just don’t wanna waste my hard-money just like that, you know?
But then the MacBook Neo came out. Still kinda pricey, but a heck of a lot more affordable than any other MacBook that ever launched. And shockingly, the Blush color so appealed to me despite my preference for any and all things dark. Yes, it only has 8GB RAM and uses a phone chip processor, but by god, it’s so fuckin’ pretty! And reading the tons of first impressions and reviews, it seemed just perfect for my use case. I mean, I don’t need a super-powered laptop for checking emails, social media, and the occasional light photo editing. Yes, I can do all that in a cheap Chromebook or Windows laptop just as well, but like I said, I want a Mac, damnit! And so here we are. See you again soon?
