Unbelievable

Before going through with my rant, I would just like to plug my bet for this year’s Bb. Pilipinas pageant: candidate #23, Luzelle Felipe:

Anywho. I was looking at pictures of the Bb. Pilipinas candidates here and I just cannot believe how mean some people can be. Except for a handful of lucky girls (like my bet), all the others would have been duguan (bloodied) from all the nasty comments and criticisms. Tsk. Are all those rude commenters physically perfect to be throwing critiques like that at beauty contestants who have been pre-judged and pre-qualified by people who know so much more about them? And news flash people, not everyone is photogenic and sometimes even the prettiest of faces in reality look like crap in front of the camera, thank you very much.

I am not perfect nor am I pretending to be, and I readily admit that I can also be pintasera at times. However, I try not to do it in public or humiliate someone face to face. At most, I’d probably tell a close friend or two and have a few laughs but keep it between us–what the person (we’re talking about) doesn’t know won’t hurt him/her. Call it gossiping, if you may. But between that and intentional public humiliation like posting rude comments in high-traffic websites, anyone can tell which is the lesser evil.

I don’t even know why I was so riled up by those comments when I don’t even know any of those girls. But I am. Sue me for venting.
