Okay, so I am getting quite stressed planning our Singapore trip in October. It’s still pretty far ahead and I have plenty of time to make arrangements and everything but of course I just have to get stressed out as early as now. 😛 Haha. Excited much?
It’s only now that it’s starting to sink in that Singapore really is an expensive city. Like, seriously expensive. It’s taking much of my research Google skills coming up with ways to save on every ride and attraction we’re planning to see. I have made tables upon tables of options for getting around and so far my latest simulation has yielded me a tentative travel budget of roughly P26,191.69 for Francine and me, and that still does not include food. My gulay. Still, it’s pretty comprehensive (I think) for a kid-friendly 4D/3N itinerary and already includes the following:
- Airfare
- Travel Tax
- Terminal Fee
- Accommodation (found in Airbnb, still tentative)
- ez-Link cards
- Universal Studios Singapore
- S.E.A. Aquarium™
- Singapore Flyer
- Singapore Zoo
- Night Safari
- Jurong Bird Park
- Snow City
What do you think? Is that too expensive? I will probably might post the itinerary itself together with the rates once I get it finalized. Might help someone else planning a Singapore trip, who knows? Anywho, I’ll keep you posted.
Oh, and if you know of any more deals, promos, discounts or whatever that would help minimize our travel costs, please do let me know and leave a comment below. Thanks in advance! 🙂
I love planning family trips and vacations (obvious ba?)… In my standard, I think that’s quite on the expensive side, considering that it’s for 2 pax without budget on food. Does that include Francine’s entrance fees? Baka naman free pa sya kasi bata pa. 🙂
Yes, that already includes Francine’s entrance to the parks (they’re all so expensive, my God!). Kids’ rates are applicable usually for kids 3-11 years old and she’d already be 3 by that time. So that’s still pretty expensive, huh? 🙁 How can I reduce the cost even more? As it is, I have already reduced that from my initial estimate of P30k+.
That being the case, allocate money for francine’s entrance fees… but do not buy yet. Buy her ticket there… because based on our experience in HK… they are not very strict with the kid’s age whatsoever… Martie got a frree pass even if he’s already 3 years old then. They do not ask. Promise! They will just check the adults’ ticket and totally ignore the kid. Maybe, Francine might get a free pass as well… then you will have more shopping money. Hehe
Really? I wonder if that’s the case with Singaporeans too. Hmmm… I hope so! Thanks for the tip! 🙂
Wow! You have fun, sis. I am planning one to for my mom and me. More tips please. ANyway, Something’s waiting for you in here: http://www.loveisamutt.com/2014/03/i-got-liebster-award.html
Rock today, love.
Thanks sis! 🙂 Where are you planning to travel with your mom? Will post tips and/or updates when there’s more progress on my planning.
Not sure where, but Asia definitely. Don’t have a single clue yet! Maybe it’s late this year or early next year. 🙂
that’s soooo cheap! believe me, you’ll end up spending double. make sure you bring extra $$$$$ and credit cards. 🙂 that’s coming from someone who wouldn’t spend for a fancy hotel. i travel cheap so i know what i’m saying hahaha.. bottom line is, bring EXTRA EXTRA cash, but spend less.
Thanks Shy! Depending on the exchange rate, that amount could fluctuate a bit but for the most part it’s got all the parks and rides covered for our stay. The extra would be for food, pasalubong and contingency. Hopefully we won’t need to shell out double the amount for any unplanned fees or such. *fingers crossed*
for a cheapskate like me, i think that’s expensive sis, but for your daughter? gorabels basta enjoy ang bagets. dont’ forget to bring extra cash or credit card 😉
Yeah, like I said SG is a pretty expensive city. And it’s our first time so I really have a hard time planning. If my estimate is still quite high, how can I reduce the costs without sacrificing any of the attractions? Any ideas sis? My cousin who has been to SG said my tentative itinerary’s already bang-for-your-buck for the sheer amount of places we’ll be visiting.
