Okay, so maybe I got just a little carried away by the excitement of Francine going to school this coming June. I enrolled her last Monday, bought her textbooks and had her fit the uniform for proper sizing. The little girl was too excited about her books and was already pawing through them so I thought it prudent to cover them as soon as humanly possible, which I did right after work. She wanted to write doodle on her textbooks already so I hid them after she fell asleep and bought her a workbook and jumbo pencils the next day. I also picked up a pack of sticker paper while at the bookstore since I figured I could make the name tags/labels myself. And lo and behold, here they are:
Sue me, they all ended up Frozen-themed. Blame it on the soundtrack which was playing while I was working on these. 😛 I kept them simple with a plain white background because printing would consume less ink that way. I was toying with the idea of making them into fancy shapes instead of plain rectangle but that would make cutting harder.
There are only fifteen of them in the class and I hardly think there’d be someone with the exact same name so I omitted the last name for these. Just the same, I made a simpler tag with her whole name in it. With snowflakes. Still Frozen-themed of course. 😉
Unfortunately, there’s some color discrepancy when the labels are printed so they don’t look quite as good as on the monitor. Nothing drastic though, thank God. They’re still readable and that’s what really matters when you come right down to it. Here they are:
I’m pretty sure she’d love these, and I worry she’ll stick them up all over the place if I she had her way. 😀 I’m torn between showing her out of sheer excitement and hiding them until the last minute to keep them in pristine condition. What do you think?
It’s so cute. I also put name labels on my books during elementary and I love covering books and notebooks.
Mama, used to put labels on all my books and notebooks too, but only that plain variety. I remember being envious of those with character labels (although there were only a few kasi hindi pa uso nun) so this here is the product of my frustration, I guess. 😀
they are admiringly cute…keep them away first or you’ll end up printing a new set..ahahah
Thank you! I showed her the stickers when she woke up so she was still kinda out of it and didn’t really catch on the importance of her beloved Frozen characters, and so they are safe for another day. 😀
Cutie!
did you use a template from an online source or you DIY’d the images & text?
Thanks Peachy! I got the characters’ images from Google, but I did the design and layout in Photoshop. 🙂
Your daughter will love them! Frozen is all the craze these days. My niece can spend hours in front of the tv watching it over and over. Your little girl will be the envy of her classmates. 🙂
Oh, my daughter too! She can watch Frozen (or Brave, or Madagascar) on loop the whole day and never grow bored. 😉
so cute! i’m sure she’ll love them 🙂
Thanks sis! 🙂
So cute!!! I remember having sticker name tags on my books and notebooks back in grade school, wala pang Frozen noon but they’re Disney characters din. Hehe I’m sure your daughter would love them! 🙂
A cousin gave me a pack of customized stickers labels with Sanrio characters (Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars) but otherwise all my books and notebooks had plain name labels. 🙂 The Frozen characters on the stickers oughtta be memorable enough to be placed immediately as Francine’s even if the kids can’t read all that well yet.
wow! your little girl has a lovely name pala sis! 🙂 And those labels are really cute (I’m a Frozen fan too haha)!
The Budget Fashion Seeker
Thanks sis! 🙂 Her Daddy actually wanted to name her exactly with female versions of his two names, but of course that would not do! So he relented and expounded on my nickname Anne for the second name. 😉
You’re such a cool mom! 🙂 I remembered doing those for my notebooks way back highschool. Lol. Anyway, Francine would love that. You can give it to her when school opening is close.
Thanks sis! 🙂 I gave her a coupla stickers to label some stuff and as expected, she wanted to plaster them with the Frozen stickers. 😀 Oh, and she was looking for Kristoff and Sven too.
oh my, I will surely do this when I have my own kids. I never had those tags when I was a kid. My parents usually writes my name on the side of the notebooks. :))
Go sis! 🙂 I wonder what new characters would be popular by then?
I miss being a student. When I was a student, I used to buy custom-made stickers and put them on my notebooks and textbooks then cover them with plastic cover. I never got bored doing this stuff when I was a student and it always made me get excited to go to school. I will definitely do that to my future children like what you’re doing. It was really fun. 😉
Mama used to do that (labeling and covering books) for me while I was a student, but I only got plain name labels since hindi pa uso that time yung mga customized stickers. 😀 But I’m having fun doing this for my daughter since I like designing stuff in the first place.
Once you have labeled the kid’s belongings appropriately chances of exchanging items in the day care or school are less.
