Just gotta rant here about Starbucks (SM City Batangas branch).
It’s something minor, really. but it really really pisses me off. For the nth time people, my friggin’ name is Nathalie. NOT Catherine. Clean your ears sometime, would you? Or listen to the one in front of the counter instead of ogling at the Caucasian lady who went before me like you’ve never seen real blond hair before. It’s disgusting, really. So you people have absolutely NO right to look amused or contemptuous if I do not get up from my seat to retrieve the blasted coffee at the bar since you are calling someone else’s name and I have no idea it was me you were supposedly calling. Geez.
I should have just said Anne to the moron at the counter.
Opppss! That’s a bad experience, but I can totally relate. Similar thing happened to me in Baguio. Ufff.. sometimes these people need like a slap on the face to wake up. Yung tipong nasabi mo na lahat ang order mo tapos sasabihin, sorry ma’am, ano po uli yun? Pano naman kasi, she wasn’t listening to me. She was looking at the cute guy behind me. Grrr!
Bad service really ruins a place’s otherwise cozy atmosphere, right? If I’d come in already in a bad mood, I would have been hard-pressed to restrain myself from giving him a bitch-slap. 😛
Starbucks employees usually do that, not the ogling part but the getting your name wrong part. I try to shrug it off sometimes, pero ang layo naman ng pagkakaintindi nila sa name mo! Geez, little things but it’s super irritating noh? 🙂
Ang layo talaga! I can understand and even forgive the common mistake of omitting H from Nathalie –> Natalie but hello? Catherine? WTF right?
omg. and kung tutuusin medyo malayo ang catherine sa nathalie ha. or is it just me? yeah, those baristas should clean their ears and be more attentive.
No, it’s not just you sis. Malayo talaga. Maybe next time I’ll just present an ID card or something. Pag namali pa pangalan ko nun, mang-aaway na talaga ko! 😛
Thank goodness this hasn’t happened to me yet. The coffee shops I go to, they already know me.
When I go to a new shop, the worst I’ve had was someone calling me Rain, instead of Rae. Which is ok kasi di naman malayo.
P.S. I never experienced this at seattle’s best. Oftentimes, they ask me to spell out my name to be sure.
Good for you sis! 🙂 Unfortunately, walang Seattle’s Best dito sa min. 🙁
hahah! sis, bakit naman Anne? Anne lang maiintindihan ng moron? LOL!
They call me Anne here at home sis. 😉
wahahhahaa wth! nathalie is easy enough to understand! geezzzzz
I know, right? Geez indeed.
How could they have mistaken Catherine for Nathalie? Weird! =)
Totally unforgivable, right?
Hmm…seems too far off your name sis…How can they mistake it for Catherine?
By totally not listening to me. Tsk. 😐
I know how you feel. They always find it so hard to understand my name, Amel. It’s just two syllables A-mel. The worst experience I had was in SM Manila branch, they were shouting “Arnel”. And dang, everyone looked at me when I stood up. Bad trip, gawin daw ba akong lalaki.
So annoying when baristas get your name all wrong, right? 😐
Haha pag sinabi mo namang Nat baka ilagay sa cup mo “Nut”, yung friend ko kasi nickname nya Nats kaya ang intindi ng barista is NUTS hahahaahaha
Bigay na nga lang sabi ng ID next time. 😛 Haha.
Ang layo! My friend Weng also gets pissed off with Starbucks – they invariably call her “Wing”.
Talaga naman. Bisaya ka man, Dai? 😛
