In my never-ending quest for self-improvement, I decided to look for free online courses I could enroll in. And one of the most decent sites I found wasΒ Alison. They offer both diploma and non-diploma courses, all for free. I enrolled in one diploma course and two other non-diploma ones which I am interested in. Here they are, with the progress tracking too. I only started last night by the way. πŸ˜‰

Actually, I got bored the first page into my Diploma in Business Management & Entrepreneurship course that’s why I looked for another course to break the monotony. πŸ˜› Haha. So why did I choose that anyway? Let’s just say I want to have and manage my own business, sooner rather than later. πŸ˜‰ And for that, of course I need to know the ropes. You can’t go into anything as heavy as a business half-assed after all. I already do some retailing/direct selling and that’s but a small learning step into it.

But as you can see the progress of the three, I was able to “study” more of the Digital Photography and Financial Literacy courses. Why those courses you ask?

I think Digital Photography is pretty much a no-brainer given my affinity to photography. I still have a lot to learn! Some of the lessons are not new to me anymore, but I still learned some from what I’ve studied so far.

Financial Literacy because, well, I desperatelyΒ certainly need it! πŸ˜€ Haha. This is one of my personal goals, to be financially literate. Mostly because I have been a hopeless spendthrift most of my life and I want to change that. Hey, I am not getting any younger after all. I need to wisen up about my finances or else.

Anywho. I must say it feels sorta like being back in college, studying and all (minus the allowance though) but much better since I could go about it at my own pace. I could go as fast or as leisurely as I want to, and there’d be no strict professors to get on my nerves or bore me to death with monotonous lectures. They also have exams, but at least there’s no fear of failing since I am the only one who could see my scores anyway. Not that I plan on failing, but you get my drift. πŸ˜›

How about you, have you considered going back to school or studying further through other means such as these online courses? πŸ™‚

  1. Hey, sis!! I’ll sign up. I was thinking of going back to school, kinda. Short courses. What do you think of Cisco? My friends are inviting me to join. I am not sure if it’s worth it. But I’m trying your recommendation for tonight! Thanks much.

    1. Hey sis, if you’re really planning to further your career in ECE then Cisco is a good choice. You’d have a lot more career options if you’re CCNA-certified. I was actually thinking of enrolling too before, but never quite got around to it. Probably because I already lost interest in our course. πŸ˜› Haha. But if you’re simply looking for a short course just for your own interests, Alison has some decent choices including writing and literature topics. I’m sure you’d find at least one that would suit you. πŸ™‚
