So we have finally, finally booked accommodation for our Singapore trip. π
Aside from the room and it’s comfy-looking queen-sized bed and balcony with a nice view, we have our own exclusive bathroom too. We also have access to the condo unit’s facilities including fast WiFi, use of the pool, jacuzzi, playground, gym and other such amenities. Oh, and there’s a free shuttle going to the nearby MRT station too. All in all, not bad for the asking price, really.
It’s my first time to book accommodations via Airbnb. Why book on Airbnb and not in a hotel? There are several reasons.
One, the rooms/accommodations for rent are usually at par or even nicer than a regular hotel’s for the same price range. This I gathered from extensive research on TripAdvisor, Agoda, Booking.com, etc. and comparing the hotel rooms listed there to the privately-owned ones in Airbnb in the same price range.
Two, I like the sense of adventure in going off the traditional route and booking a regular hotel. I personally have this tendency to choose theΒ “road less traveled” (pun intended) half the time just to break the monotony. And I thought it would be nice to have some interaction with locals and learn more a bit about the place and its people.
Speaking of, my Airbnb host and his family sounds like nice, warm people based on their feedback. Being a first-time Airbnb user, I did more research based on their description and correctly deduced where the room is located exactly. It was reassuring that they live in a condo unit somewhere in the middle of Singapore and that it seemed quite accessible. I can only hope that it meets my modest expectations. Fingers crossed! π
Oh, and if you happen to like a place on Airbnb and would rent out, would you care for a discount? π Just enter my referral code natienza3 and get P1,092 (this could maybe fluctuate a bit depending on current forex rates) off your booking!
And no, this isΒ not a sponsored post (though it sounds like it). I just am one excited tripper. π
Enjoy! Enjoy! I’ve never been to Singapore. I heard they have good street foods. Please let me see lots of photos. Hehe.
I will try! In fact we’re including a prepaid SIM card with a hefty data bundle in our budget so, you know, instant uploads! π I’m looking forward to eating like a local on hawker centers, and they reputedly have good coffee so I am making sure I get a cup (or two or three!) a day preferably from different kopitiams.
I signed up on Airbnb last time. Let me know your review! π and enjoy the trip!!
It’ll be a few more weeks before we go, but you can count on it–I’ll definitely be posting about the trip! Thanks sis! π
Wow, enjoy your trip, and post photos π

What is it about Singapore and getting pregnant?! The first time I was supposed to go, I had to cancel too because I found out I was pregnant. Same thing happened to my best friend earlier this year, she had to cancel too because she also found out she’s with a baby. π
