I consider myself quite lucky blessed in the friendship department. For though I won’t win any congeniality award anywhere, I have a solid set of friends who’ve stuck by me despite all my dramas and bitchings. Those amazingly loyal people who have seen me at my worst and did not run away screaming into the night, bless their golden hearts.
So anywho, I met up with Elffaw, my college barkada (those who were in the country anyway), last night. Lyster just came home from Singapore so that made four of us out of nine who got together for a cozy Friday night dinner and drinks. Rafy’s home too from Brunei, but his wife was about to give birth to their firstborn so, understandably, he couldn’t meet us. Really really happy about the whole thing though. We were able to contact Aimee and Marvin for video calls, plus everyone else were online on our FB group chat.
Oh, and my parents were with us too. 🙂
We ordered shabu-shabu but we ended up talking so much that not a few pieces of meat ended up charred. 😛 Still, we were all quite full at the end of the meal.
A very nice portrait of us after dinner. Top row L-R: Dan, me, Badong. Bottom L-R: Francine, Lyster.
My precious daughter so got into the impromptu shoot that right after, she started posing solo and demanded our self-appointed photographer (credits to Badong who took all these great barkada pictures) to take her pictures as well. 😀 Spunky kid. Though in fairness to both model and photographer, the resulting photos turned out quite good:
What do you think? Does she have true modelling potential or am I just too biased because I am her mother? 😛
Anywho, in the middle of it all, Rafy informed us that Dianne will be undergoing C-section at 9:00 p.m. and requested that we pray for her and the baby both. The baby was quite big at 9 lbs. and Dianne still wasn’t having contractions at 40 weeks, which necessitated the operation. Around an hour after that, Rafy happily informed us that Baby Gab was out and both mom and kid were okay. Yey! 🙂 He’s the third kid in the barkada, and the first boy. Francine’s the first, followed by Aimee’s daughter Jasmine.
And speaking of kids. One of my two best friends, Ktle, is currently six months pregnant. She had a routine maternity checkup last night and slept over at our other best friend Ketty’s house since the clinic was near her place. I met them up both earlier, and had pizza at Yellow Cab as is our tradition.
The preggy lady’s the one on the phone. They gave us the wrong pizza (New York’s Finest) and since none of us liked that, we had to wait as they made our pizza (Manhattan Meatlovers). While waiting, we ordered Creamy Shake to go from Jollibee. Because yes, I felt the need to explain what business that Jollibee paper cup had sitting on Yellow cab’s table. 😛
I love these girls; we have been best friends since third grade, roughly a coupla decades now. In fact, they’re considered family here, and vice versa. Though we don’t get together as much as we like because of our respective works and schedules, the friendship between us nevertheless stays strong.
All in all, I am very happy with the bonding time I had with my good friends. 🙂

I’ve always believed that friends are treasures, they add zest to life 🙂 You have a mini supermodel in the making sis!
Thanks sis! 🙂 Indeed, friends are treasures. Especially for a single child like me, I’d have gone bonkers without friends!
OMG! ang cute ni francine grabe! katuwa!
Thanks sis! Aliw na aliw nga kami sa kanyang pagmomodel nyan eh. 😀
First photo, where was it taken? Ang ganda!
They’re all at Fred’s Seafood Restaurant (3rd floor Club Yolanda) here in Batangas City. Really nice place, yeah. Especially at dusk. 🙂
Seems like a fitting venue for a romantic date. 🙂
True. Especially when you dine al fresco like that. 🙂 You could see practically the whole city and then some from that vantage point.
