Just how sweet is that? ♡
This happened the other night. Our A/C is on timer during the night to save on electricity, to be replaced by the electric fan after the timer turns it off. Since it was hotter than usual, the room grew warm after a few minutes without the A/C. Francine started tossing and turning, though she did not wake up. So I turned the A/C on again to keep her comfortable. Then I kissed her temple and whispered “Siya, makakatulog ka na ulit nang mahimbing. Love you Anak.” And to my utter amazement, without waking up she murmured “Love you Mommy”. My heart just about melted right then and there. 😉
Just to make sure–or just because I want to hear her say it again–I waited until she was deeply asleep again then once more told her I love you Anak. And once more she responded I love you Mommy. It really was the greatest feeling.
I’ve known for some time that I can somehow talk to Francine even if she’s asleep. Rather, ask a question and get a real answer. But I thought it was only simple stuff, like if she wants milk or her blanket sarong. No matter how deeply asleep, she actually answers. Sometimes with just a nod or shake of her head, other times with a murmured yes or no. But that was the first time she responded when I told her I love her–because I do so every chance I get–so it was really special. 🙂
Makes me wonder, was that her subconscious mind talking? If so, then I guess it means I’ve done a pretty good job ingraining into her that I love her. So much that her response is almost automatic, even while in the deepest of slumber. But that’s just me thinking out loud, trying to theorize why that is. What do you think?
One thing I’m sure of though, our mother-daughter bond is growing stronger and I couldn’t be any happier about it. 🙂
A mother and child relationship is so strong! I can see why you were so thrilled and happy to hear her respond. When I tell my toddler I love you, he says Yabyu and it melts my heart too! 🙂
It really warms the heart to hear them respond when we tell them we love them, right? 🙂
heart melt kafatir. <3 kids are truly amazing. :3
Truly kafatir. 🙂
it wasn’t her mouth who just made the talking, it was her heart 😀 sweet little girl! 😀
