After doing that monogram wallpaper, I became sorta obsessed with monograms. I came across this blog post while browsing blogs on my reader:
Excited because I found another blogger doing a monogram (shallow, I know), I left her a comment with a link to my and Francesca’s monogram posts. And then took another harder look at her wedding monogram. I like the intertwined R and V, but I thought they could be framed better. So I took the liberty of improving playing around with her monogram. I used the one on her sidebar as basis:
Pretty, right? I love those curls and swirls she used. 🙂 I got rid of the date and tinkered with it in Photoshop. And came up with three slightly varying monograms in an elaborate frame. Here’s the first one:
This looks pretty, but I find all that blank space inside the frame quite boring. Since it’s a wedding, I figured interlocked wedding rings would look good somewhere in there to fill the space. Here’s what it looks like:
Still not satisfied (or maybe just plain restless and bored), I decided to do replace the rings with the swirls I like so much in the monogram itself. And here’s the result:
I like this version best out of the three. But that’s just me. 😉 I sent them to Venus (the blog owner) and thankfully she liked them, the ring version most. 😀
How about you, which one of the three did you like best?
Haha! Awkward seeing my face on someone else’s blog. Thanks though.
This is great! Learning Photoshop and all. I’ll come up with a post (hopefully) on my improvement on the software 🙂 I’ll try creating a monogram wallpaper like yours. 🙂
Thanks for inspiring me.
Awww, I don’t think I have ever inspired anyone so a big thanks too! 😀
Looking forward to your PS improvement post. Keep ’em coming! 🙂
