Due to the incoming storm, our electricity was once again cut off earlier for a couple of hours, and twice at that. How friggin’ annoying. Why is it that we get power outtages at the merest hint of rain, huh Batelec I? 😐

Griping aside, something good came out of that temporary darkness. We used candles and I was struck by the warm glow of light–a perfect photo opp if there was one. I was reading the book I got the other day (Moriarty by John Gardner) and reading it seemed apt for my meager light despite the damage eyestrain it’s probably causing my already myopic peppers.Β Old book + creepy story setting + candlelight make up for a moody ambiance so I opted to shoot in sepia to capture all that. The ISO was cranked all the way up to 1600 resulting in a noisy, grainy photo but that just added to the “dated” look and I am pretty happy with the result. πŸ™‚
