… for consuming just a bit too much sugar-laden food the past weeks.

p365-014

Had a lab test done for blood sugar the other week and the result was devastating. Nothing extreme thankfully, but just the same it meant I need to cut back on sweets and sugar-laden food which I was practically subsisting on until that fateful day. πŸ™

However, like a sugar junkie that I am, I could not not eat anything sweet lest I go into a coma in shock. πŸ˜› So when I dropped by the grocery yesterday, I got these along with the other more appropriate (read, bland) food I could eat. I have always wondered if sugar-free stuff like these taste as well as the real deal, but never had a chance to find out until now because they are crazy expensive. I mean, for a little more than the price of the fifteen cookies in this pack, I could have gotten a BIG bag of my favorite Keebler Soft Batch cookies.

But as they say, desperate times call for desperate measures.Β Hence these. And the cookies did not disappoint in terms of taste anyway. They have loads of chocolate chips which more than made up forΒ being not quite as sweet as your usual chocolate chip cookies. And the candy is not so bad, a tamer version of the cheap chocolate-and-mint Dynamite candy. πŸ˜›

Now, if only I could find sugar-free ice cream.. πŸ˜€

  1. Hope your blood sugar count goes (do they call it count? I don’t remember) down soon. I have a sweet tooth, too, but my family has a history of diabetes. I have since had a conscious awareness of my sugar intake. Which translates to; I’ll have as much sugar as mortality would allow. πŸ˜€

    1. I sure hope so too. I’m due for another test next week. Hope the results come out normal. The first test was in bad timing anyway, I was eating ice cream everyday then, plus all those other sweet goodies I just can’t seem to get enough of. Unlike you, my family has no history of diabetes that I know of. It’s just me and my affinity to sweets. πŸ˜›

  2. Wow! Sugar free chocolate chips, how does it taste? O.O I’m also a sweet tooth! But yeah, friends and parents also tell me to eat chocolates and sweets moderately. Problem ko naman with sweets is tonsillitis. Also hoping your blood sugar goes down to normal πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Nadette! πŸ™‚ Sure hope it goes down, and soon too. The sugar-free chocolate chip cookies are not as sweet as the usual chocolate chips. But they do have loads of chocolate chips so that compensates a lot. πŸ˜€
