So, can you tell I’m excited? 😀 While not exactly a jet-setter, I have traveled a bit before. But always with companions. Last year’s LABORacay trip was supposed to be a solo affair, but I ended up going with friends. Not that I’m complaining of course, since we had a lot of fun, but it kinda dragged a bit being the sort-of planner of the group.

Anywho. Now this is my chance to go somewhere alone for more than a coupla days. I’ve always wanted to go backpacking, travel without pressure, have some quality time for me, myself and I. And now, I just went ahead and booked the trip without overthinking and caring too much. The airfare’s already been charged so that right there is a sign of commitment, more than the usual wishful daydreams of traveling. Something concrete, so to speak.

Why Cebu? I’ve actually been there ages ago, back when we attended an SK Congress held there. But despite being with fellow teenagers, it was more a business than a leisure trip and we didn’t really go out except for buying the requisite pasalubong. This time, it’s gonna be all leisure and adrenaline rush. 😀

Truth is, I originally wanted to go to Coron. But the airfare was a bit expensive so I looked for somewhere else with nice white-sand beaches and cheaper tickets. In the end it boiled down to Bohol and Cebu. The latter won because of Malapascua, and the possibility of a side trip to Kalanggaman Island to boot.

Now, I’ve been bugging friends to go to Malapascua and Kalanggaman for weeks now. So far, despite positive reactions to the pretty beaches, none have actually committed to make any concrete plans to go anytime soon. I figured I might as well go anyway, companion or no. 😛

I booked a 5-day, 4-night trip into which I want to cram the following:

  • Sky Adventure Experience at Crown Regency;
  • Beach bumming at Malapascua;
  • More beach bumming and picture-taking at Kalanggaman Island; and
  • Canyoneering at Alegria/Badian.

I’m not sure if that would all work, but I’m determined to. I mean, I’m not sure when I’d be going to Cebu again; my next travel will be somewhere I haven’t gone before. Might as well make the most of my limited time there.

Which reminds me, it would seem I have been bitten by the travel bug–hard. Like I said, I’ve always wanted to travel but it’s only lately that I found the courage somewhere to go ahead and actually do–budget (or the lack thereof) be damned.

Here’s to more travels in the near future! 😀

    1. Thanks Jackie! Your travels have been an inspiration, so here we are. 😀 You are right, I am a solitary person by nature and having this slice of time solely for myself oughtta do me wonders. 🙂

    1. I know, right? #LiveBoldly as Will instructed Louisa. That is one book I’ll never forget, nor the lessons I got from it. And so here I am, trying to do good by his advise. 😉
