Ambisyosa lang. 😀 Haha. But seriously. If you read my blog, you’ll know that I am one voracious reader. Even if you don’t, the widgets below (2014 Goodreads Reading Challenge and Currently Reading) should be clues enough for you to be able to deduce such. Thing is, I love stories sooo much that I used to once dream of becoming a writer myself and publishing my own novels (take note, novels with an s) for all the world to read and enjoy.

So I guess this is how I start–with a couple of chapters and a cobbled-together book cover published on Wattpad:

Time Unbound

Description:
What happens when time as you know it starts malfunctioning and its physical manifestation suddenly shows up in front of you?

Read it here.

Truth is though I made that haphazard cover just earlier, I wrote the two chapters months and months ago. In fact, Chapter 1 was published on my other blog way back in March. I started Chapter 2 right after, but never really got around to polishing and/or finishing it so it languished in my Drafts until yesterday.

For some reason I was overcome with the idea of having published work yesterday. You know, more than simply blogging about random inanities, actually writing down something I’ve put some serious thought and heart to. I wanted to be a book author. So I started researching about publishing houses in the country, stuff like that. Not that I already have a manuscript on hand because I literally have nothing to show as of the moment. But the goal stuck.

So I did the next best thing and signed up on Wattpad. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably already know about the site and/or app. It may seem ironic that for all my love of reading, I never once gave the app any thought before. But you see, I already have more ebooks in my Kindle than I could read agad-agad, so I had no need for any other source of literature to devour. But I digress.

I signed up on Wattpad for its other function: so I could publish my brainchild in increments as I churn out the ideas. Which is actually the reason why I made the imaginarium in the first place, but that blog also includes poetry and other types of prose while I just wanted to focus on crafting and developing my novel on Wattpad. That, and I wanted a wider and more typographically specific audience. And it just feels different reading a story from a blog as opposed to reading one from a writer’s site. Or that could just be me. Whatever.

Bottomline is I wanted to commit myself to as many people as possible as a motivation to keep writing. I am as easily distracted as the next toddler, with about the same attention span, so I seldom finish projects I start. I’m hoping this time I would actually see this to the end. Keep me company during this journey, won’t you? 🙂

    1. Thanks Razel! 🙂 If I keep looking back at my track record of not finishing what I started, I’d just get depressed and probably discontinue this project. Lol. So this is another start which, una’y Diyos I’ll see to the end. 😉

    1. Thank you Ceemee! Good luck to us! 🙂 We really need discipline if we badly want to be published authors. But with God’s grace we can do it! 🙂

    1. Ahaha! Sorry, I didn’t mean it that way. But you’ve probably heard about She’s Dating The Gangster and Talk Back and You’re Dead. Before they became movies, they were stories on Wattpad. 🙂 And thank you Michelle! 🙂

  2. I used to read a lot of stuff in Wattpad but I stopped since I loaded my tablet with all five books of A Song of Ice and Fire, he he. But this morning I read a post from a friend of mine that she’s shifting to Wattpad, and now I see this, so maybe I should start tapping on that orange icon again 🙂 Good luck on the writing, and yes, as one of the commenters said, just keep writing! 🙂

  3. You can do it! Pursue your dream. Go lang ng go! 😀 If you can’t finish what you’ve started, it’s okay. You can just try again, and for sure, you can come up with something more brilliant and wonderful. 😉

  4. Oh my gosh, I’m really envious! I think I have that secret wish to become author somewhere in me but I do not have the courage just yet. Good luck on your endeavor and count me in to read your work once it gets published. And oh, I’d like to suggest jamesclear.com for encouragement and motivation as you go on with your writing.

  5. All the best to your writing career! We need passionate writers like you. Distractions are inevitable but if it’s your calling, you’ll going to find your path through it again and again 🙂

  6. Good luck! A client of mine started out like you. She used to blog about the reality of being overweight in a perfectionist world. She later on turned her blog into a book and now she’s an Amazon best seller!

  7. Good luck on chasing your writing dreams! I’ve also always wanted to write a book, but up til now I don’t know what I want to write about. Maybe it’s just not time for me yet. 🙂

  11. I wanna be a book author too! I actually have a two chapter draft sitting in my computer for almost a year now. I started it last year when I decided to join Nanowrimo, which was supposed to motivate me to start and finish my novel in a month. But life happened. Haha! Good luck to you! Do share your Wattpad experience. I’d love to read it. 🙂
